Biotactic is built on a coupling of biology and technology with the goal of developing and providing applied, realistic solutions and strategies for fish monitoring, research and conservation. We specialize in scientific research, outreach and ecological monitoring of all species of fishes, types of aquatic habitats and the impacts of changing demands on aquatic and marine resources and communities. Our team of experienced technicians collect high quality data while our proven team of scientists plan studies, analyze data and prepare reports and scientific papers.
This site hosts a combination of live self cleaning underwater cameras and archived video coupled with fish telemetry data and water temperature data from various BRAVO nodes. The video collected automatically by the BRAVO system is particularly useful for long-term research objectives related to inter-annual variation in fishway counts, fish migration patterns, migration timing, habitat utilization and reproductive behaviour. The system has also been proven to be useful for monitoring species at risk, invasive species and observing behaviour of benthic organisms such as mussels, crayfish, diving ducks, turtles, various spawning behaviour and a wide range of fish and aquatic mammals like otters.  Read More...
