Razorback Sucker (Xyrauchen texanus) -

Biotelemetry and Sonic Tracking of Endangered Species

In December 2004, December 2005, December 2008 and again in February 2010,  Biotactic assisted Bio-West (Utah) with the set-up  of a biotelemetry project (including capture, surgery, preliminary tracking) of federally endangered razorback suckers (Xyrauchen texanus) in Lake Mead, Nevada/Arizona.  This project is designed to identify perhaps some of the last remaining previously unknown areas in the world where wild razorback sucker populations successfully reproduce.
