texanus)
-
Biotelemetry and Sonic Tracking of Endangered
Species
In December
2004, December 2005, December 2008, February
2010, and January 2011 Biotactic assisted Bio-West (Utah) with the set-up
of a combined sonic and radio-telemetry project (including capture, surgery/tagging,
preliminary tracking) of federally endangered razorback
suckers (Xyrauchen texanus) in Lake Mead, Nevada/Arizona.
This project is designed to identify perhaps some of the
last remaining previously unknown areas in the world
where wild razorback sucker populations successfully
reproduce.
