American Eel Migration at Hydroelectric Generating Stations

In 1998 and 1999, Biotactic Inc. worked in partnership with Beak Consultants, ABI and the New York Power Authority to identify the timing of out migration, swimming depth and migratory routes past the Moses-Saunders dam, for American eels from Lake Ontario.  We implanted ultrasonic transmitters into approximately 60 eels and used a combination of stationary check-points and mobile tracking to determine movement.
